Taking some time with the grand kids next week. Any reports available would be appreciated.

Moose,
I was up there a couple weeks ago fishing with my grandson.
We didn’t do real well, but one thing that I have found works for crappies there is to troll the edges of the Lilly pads on the main part of the lake with small silver rapala minnows. Small silver spinners work too.
Good luck. Have a great time with the grandkids! That kind of fishing is real quality time.

As you're facing the lake from the campground dock, the whole right side has several large patches of lily pads. There are some monster bass in there. I've caught dozens using top water, rattle baits, spinner baits, even casting a rubber worm, frog, or mouse and pulling it slowly over the pads. Night top water fishing is excellent with a moon.
