Title: AK bear hunt
Post by: klickman on June 04, 2009, 01:07:35 PM: Went out to the bait stations from May 21-25. These are my friends sites and he had been bating for almost 2 weeks. I flew in and all the sites were getting hit and they had already shot a little 5 1/2 footer. I was expectecting lots of action. Well that was a mistake. We hunted as hard as we ever have for black bears and didn't see one. Not one bait was hit while I was out there. I couldn't believe it. Enjoy the pics even if there arn't any kill shots

Post by: klickman on June 08, 2009, 02:16:04 PM: Yep it sucks when it doesn't quite come out like you have it planned. 3-4 years ago we would have seen tons of bears, but F&G is doing predator control on the black bears over there. Now the black bears near any sort of easy access are shot very quickly. Gone are the days when 3-6 bears come into your bait, oh well it will help the moose hunting.
