How’s it treating everyone?
Saturday was sure crummy in the downpour. One of the wettest I can recall hunting and I’ve hunted some wet ones.
I hunted Sunday and Monday, as well. No elk spotted, a handful of deer and a sow with two cubs.
I know of a few bulls being shot but outside of those folks, most people have pretty bleak reports!

Wet and miserable Saturday. Saw folks get a number of bulls, at least 3. Wrong place wrong time for us in the pumpkin patch unfortunately.

I went out near Middle Fork Snoqualmie this last Tuesday, and it dumped on us nearly the whole time. My Kuiu rain pants kept me dry, but the rest of my gear was soaked through. Squishy boots and all.
Didn't spot a thing other than game trails and two grouse.

Miserable - seems to be the appropriate term for the 7 days my group hunted in the Olympic peninsula from opening Saturday through Friday. However, it was fun hanging out with the group. I saw 5 cows and a bear. Other buddies in my group saw more cows, bears, and a large bull but didn't get a shot at the bull. Harvested a few forest grouse. It was a learning experience for three hunters I'm mentoring in our group as it was their first ever elk hunt. They had a blast and can't wait until next season.
