Title: How Many Kings,,,
Post by: Hunterman on June 11, 2009, 08:19:54 PM
,,, Can I keep in area 11. I read in the regs. that the daily limit is 2 (combined).. Now does that mean I can keep two kings, or one king and one silver??  then later on this summer add 2 more humpies for a total of 4.

2EA, hatchery only, release WILD kings. If you nail two hatchery's in a day in MA 11, I'd call it good for the season. :chuckle:

They've already got the damn C&R fishery open up north.

You can keep two Kings (clipped) in area 11 or two silvers (clipped and native) or one of each along with the two bonus humpies or four humpies if thats all you get. Hope that helps............Les

Remember for the silvers though you can only keep clipped fish in area 13. Its pretty strange you can keep the native silvers in area 11 and not in 13. I fish alot right on the boundary of 11 and 13 by the bridge and you really have to keep track...........Les

Don't they have to swim through MA11 to get to MA13 though.......?

True, but they are much easier targets when they stack up off the mouths of the rivers. Coho filtering down through MA11 have a lot of water to navigate, as opposed to being stacked up off the mouth of the river for a month, getting hit hard every day, makes a difference.

I didn't go out as much as usual last year, but every damn fish I caught I had to throw back! One beaut 25+ pounder. Problem with area 11 is that there are SOOOOO many poachers out there it ain't even funny. I wish they would send a gamey down there more often to the boat house to check more of these guys.

Some of the old timers that hit it every day go out and get their limit on their stupid meat line, then go back out at the tide change. I think those guys feel entitled since they have been fishing the area for fifty years. Still isn't right though. I hate poachers. I took a buddy out to chambers last year. We had two fish in the boat. Next thing I know, there is a sheriff boat pulled up next to me. I pulled up my gear. Perfectly legal. Next thing you know, every other boat is scattering like flies. Hmmmm, think they were fishing legal? The officer even made that comment. Oh, well, I guess they can't get em all.
