Title: Savage model 1899/99s
Post by: Chris57 on February 25, 2024, 10:20:32 PM: Any Savage 1899/99 collectors here? Most of mine are pre-war. I have them in 25-35, 22 hi-power, 250-3000, several in 300 Savage, and 303 Savage. They were top shelf lever actions back in the day, great craftsmanship and on the edge of top performance. I reload for all of them except the 22 hi-power, real hard to find bullets for them, they are 228 diameter.

Post by: salish on February 28, 2024, 08:33:25 AM: I have a 99EG in .250-3000. Made in the 50's. Bought it in 1972 for $125. The stock is cracked in the upper wrist right behind the receiver. I'm looking for someone who can repair it.

Post by: BigGoonTuna on February 28, 2024, 02:48:48 PM: I’ve got a mid 70s 99A in .250, and a 1960 99F in .358(originally .300 but the bore was rusted bad so I shipped it to JES for a rebore).

If there’s a finer rifle for woods hunting, I’ve never handled it. :tup:
