I was pondering the weight of my rifles today, and did some weighing and was wondering about the weight of some of your rifles. Mine were as follows, rem. 700 .270 with aftermarket laminate stock and leupold 3x9 8.5lbs. t/c encore .223 t/c thunbhole stock and weaver 3x10x50 8.5 lbs. ruger 77/17 bushnell 3x10ao 7.5lbs. winchester 72a 4x weaver steel tube scope. 7lbs. fuuny thing was I would have guessed the t/c way lighter than the remington :dunno:

My remington is way lighter than the Mauser I have. Never weighed them.
-
my win 70 in 270 probably weighs 8.5lbs easy and my weatherby mkV is probably closer to 10lbs....if not more.

Mine range from a 7 lb (with scope) Stevens 200 in .223 all the way up to a 10 lb heavy-barreled Howa Axiom .223.
-
My vintage (late 50's, early 60's) Sako Mannlicher in .308 caliber comes in at 6 1/2 lbs with scope...a 2x8 Burris Signature. A joy to pack.
-
heavier the weapon better it is for smacking something when you run ut of bullets!!! Honestly though I have quite a few weapons do not know the weight of them, all I know is they are way lighter than carrying an M60, tripod and 800 rounds.
-
I don't really worry about how much mine weigh, they spend 99% of their time in the Eberlestock anyway. My Sendero clocks in at about 10.5 lbs... and I don't mind packing it all over. I figure... why worry about shaving a pound or two of rifle weight, when I could afford to shed about 30 lbs off my ass?

You guys calling me fat? >:(
Seriously though... I remember watching this guy and his buddy buy matching Kimber Montana .300 WSMs to replace their existing .300 Winnys (to the tune of about $1200 a piece). They were going on and on about how they only weighed 6 pounds and what-not. Funny thing was... both these dudes had to weigh in around 4 bills. After they left I told the sales guy they would have been much better off spending a quarter of the money on a treadmill... and they would have shaved about 50 lbs... instead of two... we were rollin' laughin'. About a week later I saw them at the range trying to sight those rifles in and getting worked over by those little hell bitches... seems a 6+ pound .300 mag is no joke from the bench.

I have a 7-08 that is about 6 1/2 lb's scoped. That's my lightest rifle, its also the rifle that I have to work the hardest to shoot really well at longer ranges. The rifle is plenty accurate, I just have trouble with light rifles. That 7-08 is the rifle I'm packing on this years high buck hunt. most of my deer/elk rifles weigh 8 to 9 lb's. My varmint rifles have 26" bull bbl's and weigh in around 15lb's. After packing heavy long rifles around all winter, my big game rifles sure feel light and handy.
-
My Sendero in .300 RUM weighs in at 11.4lbs, including the bipod, but an empty magazine.
-
My Kimber,Montana,308 Win. with a 2x7 scope and 4 rounds in the mag. is right around 61/2 pounds

I also have a Ruger 30-06 with a nice 2x7,a very nice trigger(aprox.3lbs.)shoots tiny little groups with pretty much any ammo.)but comes in around 91/2 lbs. and that one always seems to stay at home
