Title: son drew Desert C
Post by: arrowflinger on June 15, 2009, 11:18:12 AM
My son drew his first deer tag..........and will be his first big game hunt. He'll finally get to use the .257 bob I built for him. Crap, did I say how excited I am for him...............
Talking with a buddy of mine, I have a plan in what I want to do..........and where I'll be scouting. But I would love to hear maybe some other places to check out for a back up plan..............I know a few on here that have hunted it, so some advice would be great.
Thanks in advance and this is not my first post............ ;)

just a matter of finding one as close to the road as possible then, try and get permission from some of the guys with alfalfa fields out there , even if you cant should be able to kill a doe first day out there

Thanks wastickslinger, I will do that................He is excited. It will be his first chance to hunt big game............being in football, basketball and baseball.

That will work out great since we will be staying in Moses Lake.

I live in the desert surrounded by wheat and alfalfa fields. A doe tag will be easy money. Send me a pm when the season is getting close. Love to help get a kid his first deer. Helped a 10 year old girl wack a doe last year with a muzzle-loader. Her smile was priceless.

There is public land. The deer thrive on farm crops(private) so therefor that is where the bulk of them concentrate. You can find a doe in the public land too. Just plan for a whole day instead of just an hour if your hunting public vs. private.  :chuckle:

You will find a doe, if you cant you can send me a PM too.
