Damned, I miss that.  Used to do that back in WI for carp when I was younger.  Too much fun.  The real big ones can tow a canoe around with 2 guys in it.

Man I need to do this!  I only have one bow.  Is it a huge deal to rig up my regular hunting bow for bowfishing?

shouldn't be -- just have to have a screw hole to mount your reel.  if you're not getting too serious, you can get one of the handline reels for pretty cheap.

i'd love to get the crank/bottle setups like in those pictures.  those fish always present themselves just right while you're fumbling with retrieving your arrow and setting up for another shot :bash:

BLKBRKLR,

We saw a ton of carp while fishing last weekend.  Right up against the bank.  That's why I want to try it.  I'm not sure what I would do with the fish though.

Toona,

Thanks for the advice.  Headed to Cabela's tonight.  I'll check into it while I'm there.

i can't speak for him, but with the setup i've used(a 50# browning compound), once they get 2 feet or more under the surface it starts getting really hard to hit them, even those heavy fiberglass arrows lose velocity very quickly.

we shot them from my boat -- 1 guy runs the trolling motor to sneak up on them, the other shoots.  noon seems to be the best time, no shadows to spook them.  we would try to nail the ones that were sunning with their backs out of the water.
