Hello, I got a cow tag valid until March 31 in a few areas in Long Beach and wanted to see if I could get any information or access from someone local with a farm and elk on the property.
Update: I was just told by WDFW that I can only hunt on private property, assuming that this tag was issued as a damage tag to use at the farms in the area.

Have you tried talking to a local WDFW officer? They might have some leads for you.

it's hunt area 2708, so from my documentation, part of 673, 681, 684, 699

699 and 684 have a lot of wildlife refugee area in them so if it were me I would just avoid those in general. 681 the Bears river area I hear there is good hunting but I have never been that far.
I’ve hunted the 673(Williams creek) GMU my whole life. There are a few good walk in areas to hunt and some state land to where you only would need a discover pass. Then there is some area that is all locked up and permit only access which you wouldn’t be able to mistake the locked gates with permit area only signs on them.
PM if you have any other questions if you have ON X I could show you some of the areas.

It's weird, there is no map/description for that area that I can find on WDFW. 699 is all archery and a bugger of a hunt, know the tides and have a decent boat. 673 has both elk and state land, just depends on how far north/south the hunt area covers.

This is what I found. Looks like GMU 684, which is Long Beach. Hunt # is 2708, not area. 684 has always been difficult access unless you happen to know some landowners, imo. Small amount of public right near the eastern boundary iirc.

I was thinking it's a master hunter hunt to help with the cranberry farms, damage control.
