I was looking into these areas recently and my maps show them both being almost all private land. Does anyone know much about this? I'd hate to draw a lifetime tag and start facing access issues.
-
I can't remember if it was Selah Butte I was looking at or the one right next to it, but there is a lot of BLM land over there.

Selah Butte area 4 is alot private some small part state . Go across the Yakima river ,Umtanum area 5 mostly state and a small part private. Same with Cleman Mountain area 7.

Hangman moose is about 99% private but you can purchase an access permit to hunt on Inland Empire Paper company land.

Alright, then it was Umtanum that I was checking out before. I couldn't remember which side of the river was which unit.

So does that mean the guys who draw Selah Butte end up paying trespass fees?
-
No, I'm pretty sure good hunting can be had on the public part of the unit. Otherwise the WDFW would have some sort of warning in the regs stating that there was no public access.

Part of Selah Butte is on the Yakima Firing Center .
