its real simple..... Cougar, wolf and bear kills.... reduce those and populations will improve.......  spring bear, wolf hunting and dogs for cougars...

now the state can pay me millions of dollars for this research... rolling eyes...

Calf survival in much of the SE is near zero, had to cherry pick to get those numbers.  Ask the folks running cattle in those parts what the problem is.  A gal on the wolf advisory committee would be a good start.

"The objective for the Blue Mountain elk herd is about 5,500. There have been some, including members of the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission, who have suggested that since the objective hasn’t been met in several years, it may be too high."

Just lower the standards and we are good  :bdid:  Nothing to see here.

Perfect example of wdfw commissioner mentality. Do a study and get the same results year after year of too many predators and then instead of working on addressing that problem they decide there just must be too many elk… When their kid struck out every at bat they probly wanted to make home plate bigger also or get a different umpire….🤔

They just don't want to admit that the predator numbers in the blues are too high. More folks need to start bear hunting to be honest.

I agree SEWA. Problem is, bear hunting soon won’t be legal in this state the way they are going!!  Its all crazy if you ask me.
