Title: appropriate scope and barrel distance
Post by: Coasthunterjay on June 27, 2009, 08:25:42 AM: Well I mounted a scope to my weatherby yesterday but im kind of worried that i might be running into some clearnace issues.

Can anyone tell me if an 1/8th+ inch clearance is enough or not enough clearance for shooting?

i agree, as long as some gap is there, you're fine. the lower the better.

:yeah:

I try to mount my scopes as low as comfortably possible... without touching the barrel.

Well i guess i will know whether it is to close or not when i go sight it in.

oh straight shooter i would have to say it is close as possable..... :chuckle: just wanted to make sure it wasnt to close.... :IBCOOL:
