Well I mounted a scope to my weatherby yesterday but im kind of worried that i might be running into some clearnace issues.
Can anyone tell me if an 1/8th+ inch clearance is enough or not enough clearance for shooting?
-
actually its probably less than an 1/8th.... :bash:
-
i assume your talking the space between the bell and the barrel. as long as theres a gap it should be fine
-
what scope did you put on it??
i agree, as long as some gap is there, you're fine. the lower the better.
-
sometimes a big gap is good
-
My guns come with iron sights.Whatsa scope?

:yeah:
I try to mount my scopes as low as comfortably possible... without touching the barrel.

Hey jackelope i put on a leupold with a 50mm objective...its close, not touching...i can get maybe three or four dollar bills sandwitched between the bell and barrel......
Well i guess i will know whether it is to close or not when i go sight it in.
oh straight shooter i would have to say it is close as possable..... :chuckle: just wanted to make sure it wasnt to close.... :IBCOOL:
THANKS GUYS!

Very easy Jay if it does not touch the barrel it is fine. Whether it is 1 dollar bill or 80 of them. If it does not touch it does not touch.
