Just had a friend contact me about having to sell some firearms.
Health issues are the main reason to dispose of a handful of pistols and rifles.
I havn't kept up lately on who local buys or handles consignment any more in the general Tacoma or south sound area.
In my experience the dealers are only give you pennies on the dollar for outright sales.
Requiring FFl now just adds more cost .
What would be a good place to start looking ?
The only shop I know of that does consignment is Welchers I believe.
Any other recommendations that honest and reliable ?

A little farther north, Pinto's in Renton. Good folks been dealing with the family for many years. Just not very good at answering the phone.

Post them here. I'm sure a member would give them a happy home.

Most FFL dealers will pay you 60 to 70 percent of their value if they are good sellable firearms.
If their not you will get much less. Their is a lot of undesirable firearms laying in closets.
FFLs are not ripping you off or getting rich buying your firearms. They are a business and profit is
not a dirty word! They still have to sell them, and you get cash up front.
WGS in Lakewood will buy them and be very fair.
If you decide not to sell to a dealer, then list them yourself, it can be a lot of work and you still end up
at a dealer. For people who have to get rid of them ASAP, dealers are the way to go.
Hope this helps.

To be clear I am not selling them nor am I a third party.
Was just looking for someplace he can take them to.
The business he has dealt with in the past is no longer around,Marys Pistols.
And I am not familiar with who does this anymore .
Haven't sold a gun in many years.
Hell,I'm still trying to find a local gunsmith.
Seems all thats left is big box retailers .

Pintos in Renton will do ya’ right

Dont take them to Cabelas. They will only give you about 25% value.

That was the first place I told him not to go .
And the Ponders pawn shops.
He is not computer savvy so online is really not an option either.

If you had a list of makes and models of what he is wanting to sell you might post them on here? Interested parties could maybe contact him? Otherwise I know of folks who have good experiences with Pintos but he will likely get a bit more by selling them personally. I guess it depends on if he wants to get rid of them quicker for less money and less time meeting others at an FFL
