My friend has one of the tags. If anyone knows where their is a monster tied up and doesnt mind sharing I would love to pass some good intel to him.
He has a good crew going with him and has spent time in the unit with cams. I know he will give it his all and I would be happy as heck to see him get a huge bull!
Thanks,

Must be talking about the watershed in the blues? That would be a tough hunt with a bow after the rut, they used to have a limit of how many can go with the hunter, and no access in the unit before the hunt. Went with a friend years ago, amazing country, steep as heck. Hopefully he finds a good one.

I think I got too much sun yesterday! His tag is for Mountain View! :chuckle:

The unit is nicknamed "the hole" all roads are on the tops and the elk are in the bottoms by shooting hours. Nearly every canyon has elk in it , just getting to them and then dragging one out is the challenge. Hope he watched the Meateater episode that was filmed in the unit. Head to the eastern part of the unit and drop off Mallory ridge and to what's labeled as rattlesnake creek. It was thick with bulls 4 years ago when I helped my dad fill that tag .

Congrats to your buddy. Getting a bull with archery is no easy task, and a 370” bull is quite an accomplishment. Was it a difficult hunt? Did you see lots of bulls or just a few?

I cut my teeth hunting elk in that area back in the day. It literally defined what gear we hunted with in the future. I was sick with the meateater episode, but times have changed and I am not sure I could hunt there again.
