I was worried about the Kansas draw only to find out that this year every non-resident was drawn for a permit. Now I can't wait for November to come along! I accepted one of the Hunt Swaps on Archerytalk from a guy that was wanting to hunt elk. He came out a couple years ago and hunted with me for 2 weeks and had a blast. He's turned into a life-long hunting buddy from that one trip. He has access to more land than we need in Kansas, and he's promising a great hunt this year. He saw the bucks I've got on my wall in my shop from Idaho, so he knows what I've taken and says that we'll do better than that this year; for what it's worth, there's only 3 bucks over 140" hanging there. In fact, if I remember right, his comment was, "If you shoot the first 140 or 150 inch buck that comes along, then I'll kick you in the nuts." He's got sheds from 170-190 bucks every time he goes looking, so he has very high hopes for me.....so do I!

I've never shot one that big, and I don't expect to start this year, but it sure is fun to dream about!

It sounds like you will have a good time in Kansas. How much is a nonresident tag?
