I've been calling for yotes in the GP forest, and have had 2 show up in the past 5 outings. It takes about an hour to get to the area I have been going. I live 5 minutes from the pheasant release site on Ft. Lewis, and have often wondered if there are yotes around there. Or yotes close to that area. Or yote hunting areas near roy/yelm/graham/spanaway. Anyone have any sightings? or suggestions? Thanks!

I went to school in yelm years ago and yes there are a lot out that way. Go out to the back side of Wilcox dairy farm and we use to get lots out that way.

i live right near there, but havnt ever hunted do to not knowing where i can and cant hunt. but i had a friend who got permission to hunt bear on ft lewis land and he saw 8 yotes while bear hunting

Just becareful around the base. Since 9/11 they don't mess around with people on post regardless of how far out you are..

you have to register with the northwest adventure center on post. it is fairly easy,we log out there all the time mounts road area has a huge population .

it seems a bit of a hassal to get all of the permits needed

When I was younger I lived just outside Ft.Lewis in the town of Steillicom. We had a greenbelt called Ferrels Marsh that bordered the base, my friends and I used to sneek onto the base through a hole in the fence. We saw a lot of coyotes, and big deer in there.
