Well I have been working out of state since the middle of March. I know, I know, I have missed a lot of really good fishing. But I have six days at home before leaving again for another three weeks and I was planning to take the boat camping for four days while I am home :IBCOOL:. I think I have decided to head up to Banks for this trip. I have never been there before so I will be trying to figure it out. Also, Banks is so close to other places to fish that if the fish are not active there, which I hope they will be, it wouldn't be too hard to find somewhere else to go.
So figure before I head out I should check on the board and see if anyone has any suggestions. I know that there are a couple of places up there to camp, is one preferred over the other? I figure that the walleye fishing can't be too much different from the pot holes this time of year. Crank baits or worm harnesses right? And cranks and plastics for bass? I will have the misses with me and would like to get her into a school of perch or crappie, is that an option in the area? I have never fished Rufus Woods or Billy Clapp and was thinking about trying one of those two, any suggestions? I heard that Rufus has walleye to go along with those big trout
Thanks for the help guys and hope I get the chance to C&R a lot of fish. I will throw up some pics when I get back.

are you wanting full hookup? If you are then use coulee playland resort store 509-633-2671 they are awesome people boat launch right there and they can get you turned on to the fish.
Bass right now are everywhere on the lake.

No I don't need the hook up. Old fashion tent camping. From what I have heard the salmon below Wells might be worth a shot too.

Bottom bouncing from the shore at the foot of Wells dam is going good right now. Night time is the best time for fishing below Wells and the best way is using a couple of glow in the dark corkies and roe. I've got a friend that lives in Chelan and he's down there every night. He has pulled several kings already this season and reports that the boat fishermen are doing better than the shore fishermen using flashers & Brad's super baits baited with tuna off of the riggers. The fishing at Rufus Woods is also off the hook right now and more than worth the trip.

Lake Roosevelt Walleye is hot right now, Rufus for Triploids, Banks Bass is still pretty good..topwater getting hot. Billy Clapp is also been hot lately..especially silvers I hear?
Grand Coulee is a great place to start from in my opinion. Tent camping available..but Mosquitos are bad.

Well I can give you some of the latest fishing news. Fished Roosevelt 4th of July Plenty of real nice walleye, and some good smaillies. Banks is a little slow the bass are post spawn, should good better as the weather stays warm. Fished the Brewster Pool on Monday for Kings, boated a 25 and 19 lb King. Real nice fish good shape and the numbers coming over the dam are getting better. Sockeye just opened also and plenty of them being caught. Keep your line tight.

Might look into Steamboat Rock park for camping, seems to always be a lot of people there. I live in the area, so don't camp anywhere near. Might want to check websites for reservations of a spot.

I would try Porcupine Bay. Go across from the dock on sandy cliff areas in 20-30 ft. of water. Try white jigs, Lindy rigs, or drop shot. Try to stay in one area and fish it a bit, I wouldn't troll for them much. Edges of grassy areas may be good too. You'll get a lot of smaller ones. The WDFW is encouraging people to keep the smaller ones. Tip everything with 1/2 a nightcrawler. Tight Lines
