Thought I shot 70 pounds until I had my bow checked yesterday and found out I was shooting 60. It completely changed my arrow set up. :P
-
My Mathews Drenalin maxes out at 73 lbs. that's where I shoot it.
-
Mine is set at 68lbs.
-
75 pounds. My old one was 90 pounds with no let off. It makes for a nice decoration in my barn. I killed a lot of critters with it though.

My first bull elk ( Rosevelt) Went down with my 42 lb Jennings. Cut on impact Broadhead. Also killed a P&Y Black bear with it that year and a mule deer doe. I shoot 50 lbs now and have for a long time..( 20 yrs. ) Oregon requires it for elk hunting.

I'm new and slowly working my way up tot he max 73lbs on my PSE Mach X.

I hunted with my old Enticer Carbonite at 95 lbs. We had to twist up the cables to get there. My current bow I will be right around 80 lbs this year. Never have to worry about penetration. It will plow right through both shoulder blades.
-
I shoot 56# right now. Next year I want to shoot around 65# after I either get new limbs for my bow or maybe a new bow.
-
65 on the compound and 50 on the recurve and LB.
-
I shoot 50 lbs. I can shoot Smokey's 60 but the draw is wayyyy to long! :bdid:.
With a cut on inpact broadhead and the right shot placement you don't need any more than that.
My first bull elk was with 42 lbs and the arrow went threw one side and out the other that was with a Bear Broadhead 2 blades. The elk ran about 70 yrds. :P

70 for me.

Wife shoots 55, me 70
-
75 to 80 last time I bow hunted

It all depends on what I feel like carrying that day, I own several recurves from 45# up to 75# , My favorite for elk is my Damon Howatt 75#

Normally hunt around 66lbs. This year with a Moose tag in my pocket, switched to a heavier arrow and cranked the Guardian up to 72lbs.
-
72 on the old vectrix xl

60 lbs on my Bear Element

70 and love it i like the speed and the pin gap that it gives me. I shoot better with high weight and lots of speed.
-
Im shooting my x-force at 67lbs with a 445 arrow at 295 fps and it just about perfect!
-
I have my bow set at 65 pounds. It just feels right.
-
71# on a Hoyt Katera, flings my hunt weight arrows at 302 fps and gives me arond 82-84# of kinetic energy.
-
63 pounds on my bowtech. Question- With the technology in todays bows we get the same arrow speed or sometimes even faster with a lower draw weight, so why are some of you maxing out the draw weight? With no penetration advantage I can only assume you have older bows or it is for comfort to pull back an extra 5 to 10 pounds?
-
My Mathews Reezen is set at 70 lbs.
-
bout right at 66
-
78 lbs on my katera
