Title: Bow String Question

Post by: Crunchy on July 11, 2009, 09:09:23 AM: Ive only used Winnerschoice but Vaportrail supposedly makes good strings. I would be careful with after market unproven strings unless u can afford the chance. Better off spending a few extra $$$ with great warranty.

Post by: gutsnthegrass on July 13, 2009, 01:34:05 PM: I just had the Stone mountain strings put on my Hoyt. Seems to be shooting alot better than when it was new. They were pretty spendy though. Better last longer than the stock strings, they sucked!

Stone Mt.,Vapor Trail and WC all make good strings..one thing to look at is what they are made with BCY 8125 or 452X
most use 8125 cuz it is softer and will last longer but it can and will stretch some. 452X will not stretch but it will fuzz faster
so you must wax your strings. we use all BCY 452X. Take care of your strings, We use Scorpion Venom.

I clean my strings about every 3 months then wax....all that dust and dirt will stick to the wax on your string

There is more to pre stretching strings to stop the twisting. that's way not all custom strings are the same.
