Post by: Branden on July 15, 2009, 08:09:51 PM

Start hating. :P I will say I think we walked less then 2 hours the day we found those five. He went back to the area that we found the far right shed in and found the match to it.

i frikin knew it. commencing hating, i found two nice ones this year and was trying like hell to find that 8x8 that i was following around. those are some nice sheds. ive heard there's a "bowl" up there that is notorious for elk sheds but i cant seem to get where it is outta the guy that told me. go figure

Sounds like it is time to start pouring over the topo maps.   :twocents:

If you saw the 8x8 where I think you did I know of a couple other guys that pounded that area really hard and never found a shed. And that area is loaded with deer and elk. Used to be my favorite cat spot.

I don't think topo maps would really help in this area.

Nice haul.  I have never looked for sheds, but run across them on occasion when hiking.  I usually grab them if they are not to bleached out, otherwise I leave them.
