Title: Replacement barrel has arrived
Post by: HoofsandWings on July 17, 2009, 12:10:30 PM: Knight sent me a replacement barrel for my bighorn, which I received yesterday. I can actually push a sabot into the barrel without too much trouble. But to be on safe side, I just bought a tube of bore butter. Knight also sent me some new sabots with a variation of the Barnes bullets. Now I have to asemble the muzzleloader and it is off to the range. I have all of August and September to sight in and practice, practice, practice.

It had unbelievable lans. I could not get a sabot down the barrel. I almost could load without a sabot.
The bullets are 0.451 and the lans to lans were 0.470 according to the caliper. The new barrel has much smaller lans.
