Managed to sneak off for a couple hours out to the point before work. It was a pretty big tide and windy. Saw a couple guys lose fish to the seals but not a lot of action. Just before we were thinking of heading in, my jig rod bent over. Nice fresh fillet for the grill tonight and the rest for the smoker tomorrow.

Thanks guys! Yeah Phool, I was between Owens and the "hole in the wall". I love fishing there during the week. I heard its been picking up out there. Lots of 4 y/o fish. My dad went out on Saturday and hooked but lost two, then he went out yesterday and nailed one about 16. Not red hot, still have to work pretty good for them. Half the battle is keeping the frickin seals from stealing your fish. Oh yeah, Charlie, you should try getting up before nine a.m. sometime, you'd be surprised how early it gets light out! :chuckle:

Muley,
You ever try the fishing pier on Fox Island? I used to get flounder out there all the time but could never catch any salmon
-
I know a guy that caught a 14lb'er off it a few years back. Ive fished out in front of it a little. I normally stick around area 11 until Chambers starts seeing fish then head over there.
