I'm not counting my chicken's just yet, but I may be able to get out fishing this summer, looking at buying a 9.9 Yamaha, hoping the deal goes through without a hitch and I'll catch the end of salmon season. I didn't think I would get out at all this year, a lot going on.

8) Good luck!

Thanks, really sucks to have a relatively new 21' boat that I can't fish out of right now. I could use it in lakes, but not in the salt without a kicker. I'm welding this one on, so it's theft proof (hopefully).
-
Welding it on???? Can you do that with cast metal??? If it works, maybe it might get that done for same reasons???
-
I'm not exactly sure how it's done, but my dealer tells me they've done it before, if I get some specific's I'll post.
-
I wouldn't weld it!!!! :bdid: I have talked to guys who had a good lock system. They still got their kickers and BIG motors taken. The thieves used a saw and cut the transom out as well as all fule lines and steering cables!!!! Would you rather buy a new kicker or have the boat transom rebiult and buy a new kicker.
Something to think about.

It's either that or I'm having Guido watch over it 24-7 ;). The police in my area have more important thing's to do, like Winchells. :(. When we get a robbery, or similar in my area they send the helicopter, true story, when the substation is right down the street. When I lived in Tacoma I didn't even see anything like that, I don't know if I should be amazed, or disappointed :o. I'm still a little bitter because the officer left me waiting for 3 hours to file a report -guess they should have sent the helicopter :chuckle:.

Get yourself a second hood for your kicker and smash some cracks in it and scratch it all up glob some bondo on it and make it look like a POS maybe they will leave it alone, then just put the new one on when you go fishin !!!

Do some mooching and you wont need a kicker :chuckle:

I've been on one too many floating piles of metal with one bad engine to trust just one ;). Not fun being towed back in.
