Title: Info on Big Bend GMU?
Post by: drbones on July 26, 2009, 09:47:52 PM
I'm looking to hunt the Big Bend GMU this fall ... any local intel that anyone can offer?  I'm looking at maps and staring at GoHunt/Google Earth for hours on end and I see a lot of public land that looks worth checking out.  Does anyone here hunt the area around Banks Lake?  Is it worth looking for deer in that area?  I'm a total noob when it comes to hunting outside Texas and could use any info I can get.

Thanks,

Chris

took my boy's there 6 years ago, told him to shoot the first deer he saw. He said no , was holding out for a buck (any deer at the time for youths) I told him shoot @ the first deer cus he was going to miss anyway. And yes he did miss a 2 pt. @ about 30yrds. The next day he shot a very nice 2 pt. 212 yrds. away. good luck and make sure to ovberlook the columbia.
