Title: 7x57 shooters
Post by: Screaminreelz on July 27, 2009, 09:13:44 PM
Curious if anyone out there hunts with one and what bullet weight they shoot. I've had mine for a good 15 years now and have never dropped weight much and am looking to do so to get a flatter shot. I've shot plenty of 170's primarily because I brush hunt but would like to really know how the 139-160's handle.

Haven't hunted with one yet but have one almost built and I plan on using something in the 140 grain range.  Should be great for deer, antelope and such.

I used to use 175gr RN's in the woods and had great luck.  My brother in law uses 139-154's and does just as well on deer.

In that size case I would think that a 140 or 150 grain bullet would be ideal. It should be balistically very similar to the 7mm/08.
