Just got back from a trip where Dad and I took a blind guy steelhead fishing. He was in a horrific motorcycle accident 3 years ago, was blinded and lost one entire hamstring to the guardrail. He used to fish before, but never had he experienced action like in the last 2 days. Monday evening we launched at about 4, got off the water at 8:30, and landed 16 steelhead and a jack. Only four were hatchery. Some upriver trib is getting a ton of wild fish. Denny (the blind guy) could still hook fish on his own, we just had to tell him where to steer the fish or untangle it from the achor ropes if need be. He hooked and landed 6 on his own on Monday. This morning we fished and were limited by eleven. We landed 14 this morning, and got our 6 keepers. Denny had a crazy amount of fun, the most fun he has had since the accident he said. The whole trip was focused around him catching fish, and he did. I had a lot of fun too. And I had to tell him where to look for me to take pictures. Unfortunately, not all of them turned out. It will definitely make you appreciate your eyesight when you fish with a man that has none. Definitely an experience.

Congrats to him for still getting out there and enjoying the things that he used to.
