I drew a muzzleloader cow tag for Bumping and I am planning a few scouting trips, 1 in late August and a couple in September. I want to look the area over real well but was wondering if any one has some previous knowledge of this area? Any input would be appreciated.

It shouldn't be very hard to fill! I don't have the regs in front of me... what dates are the season? If you can avoid scouting from Sep 8th to 20th it would be best as that is during archery season.

Thanks for the reply. The dates are Oct 3 - 11. I have some mules that I might take on the hunting trip in case I get something back in on a trail a ways. Do you know much about this unit?

Sent a PM.

On the contrary I don't think it is a gimme to kill a cow in the Bumping unit. They are very smart & have been avoiding hunters for a long time. The wind is always swirling terrible & very noisy if you are a stalker. It will take some scouting & planning to connect. Good Luck. Mike

IF you did not want a cow tag way did you apply. HORN hunter only.

There is a good chunk of NF along hwy 12 that is on the lower elevation. Below the Wilderness.
