Tom Pm'ed me the other day and wanted to go shoot some blue grouse. We took off Friday night to one of my favorite spots. Well, we found everything but blue grouse. I don't have time for a writeup but here are a few pictures. Tom can post some really good ones.

Nice pics. That first buck is a real dandy!!! Very tall, decent forks and mass. Does he fork in the back on his left hand side???
-
Dang Shawn, you can take me to that smoker blacktail come the first of september if you like!! :chuckle: Dandy pics man!
-
Beautiful! Looks like Obstruction... I got a pic with a disposable camera of 3 HUGE 5 point + BT's, all in the same frame, up there many years ago. Don't know where that pic is, but it was impressive. Problems was, they all probably were born, lived, and died without ever leaving the park.
-
Wow, do you sell any of your pictures, framed in prints :dunno:
-
this should make for a great thread... both these pros taking awesome pics
-
Great work, Shawn. Having tried and failed miserably to photograph flying dragonflies, I really appreciate how difficult that shot was. Excellent!!
-
Those are some smokin blacktails! Great shots!
-
Great pics as usual Shawn love the crispness!!
-
Shawn, quit your day job man...really. Every time you head out for some pics, you bring back the goods. Sellable goods!!!
-
Great photos! What equipment are you using?
-

Yes. He was a really nice blacktail. A perfect 4x4. Hopefully Tom has some better photos of him. I only had 280mm and he had 800 or something...

I don't know where Obstruction is, but it sounds like I should go there. Next time I head your direction I'll PM you Rainshadow...

No, that would be no fun. I would rather give them to you guys free to look at.

It was a lot of hit and miss. I think Tom thought I was half nuts. He is probably wondering why I'm not shooting the wood duck and I'm pointing my camera at some little insects...
Great photos! What equipment are you using?
I was using a Canon 40D and a 70-200 f2.8 L IS. Some shots had a 1.4x converter on them. Nothing special for me. Tom had the big 400mm f2.8 arm killer.

Let's try a few more before Tom blows me out of the water.

Obstruction Point Road, a 7 mile spur road off the NE corner of the Hurricane Ridge visitor center parking lot.... Lillian Valley, headwaters of Morse Creek, Grand Lake is boiling with Brookies too! Casting bubbles and flies....
Love this thread, can't wait for Tom's pics!

It was great to be afield with Shawn. He may not choose to do photography for a living, but his skills are pro in every sense. He has a great eye and sees everything that is around him that may be a worthy subject. I hope to shoot with him more often.

Sorry 'bout the delay, robodad. It'll be a few hours before I can download images, pick out the keepers, edit, & post. I've got a couple projects that must go out in today's mail, and I can't do much of anything else until they're completed. I should have 'em up sometime tonight.

Awesome pictures... Thank you for sharing them with us.
