Well, I looked through all of the topic sections and didn't see a section for introductions so I figured here was as good as any.
I was invited to go on an Elk hunt this fall and got all excited. Originally from Michigan where we have a small herd that is lottery driven for tags. Been hunting more than a couple years but never for elk. So...I had to go out and buy a new set up for the hunt. ;) Just bought a new Tikka T3 hunter in 300WSM and topped it off with a Leupold VX3L 3.5x10x50. I figure that should just about cover anything around here. What do you think?

My brother and I were hunting down by Indian Heaven Wilderness one year and ran into a group of 6 bow hunters from Michigan. They were on a guided elk/deer hunt. :dunno:
I got the impression the Guide was not licensed. :dunno: They did get a shot at a giant blacktail up in the wilderness.
Welcome to the site and I wish you success on your Elk hunt. :hello:
