:hello:We made it up scouting Sunday and had a great time hiking and scouting. Saw lots of wild life and took lots of pictures in the Railroad grade area. My son really enjoyed the time we spent together and is looking forward to our next scouting trip. We got home to late for me to download the pic's and post them to Hunt-Wash but plan to as soon as I get home from work today. The first Goat we spotted was a Billy all by him self. We set up above High Camp and he was near Meadow Point. I think that's about 3/4 mile away. We decided to get a better look at him and got with in a 100 yards. He was very healthy and had loss all last winters coat, about one and a half inches between the base good mass but not a record goat. I think he might just make book if taken with a bow?
Looking across the middle fork of the Nooksack we could see about 25 goats grazing in a park below Seward Peak. Best I can figure 23 Nannies with kids and two Billy's above in the dirt. Just to far away to know if the Billy's were big or not? I wonder how a person could get to that park? Not accessible from Meadow Point. Looks like NFD 38 RD might get us close if open?
Looking forward to next weekends scouting trip. Not sure what direction we will go? I really enjoyed listening to the powerful thunder of the glaciers and the water falls. Not sure if we will ever be able to top this hike or scouting trip, it was awesome!
