Try the Concrete area.  Its a little brushy but lots of bear and deer.  Watch out for the real backwoods folk. ;)

according to a thread in the bear hunting foum, you have all the good bear spots already picked out and wont share them. so why do you expect people to share their deer spots?

Backwoods why don't you pick an area that is reasonably convenient and then spend time scouting and locating the animals?

I practically live in the Capitol Forest and it gets a bad rap as hunting grounds BUT because it is close by I can put in a ton of hours and miles in there.....No I haven't had success yet but I have seen what I am after and with a little patience I will kill something.....

Unless you are going on a high fence hunt I really cannot see how any area is going to guarantee you what you are looking for....as far as I can tell the successful hunters are the ones who put in the time and they can find trophies in areas most say trophies don't exist  :dunno:

I can find lots of big bulls over in eastern WA but it does me no good without that special tag, and even then there is still no guarantee the moon and stars will align and I will be successful  :P

FYI, you will be competing with the labor day crowds so staying away from the more popular hiking trails would be a good idea.

 :hello:

if your putting in the time then patience is what you need next  ;) maybe change how your looking

The anti's seem to have affected some young hunters making them believe hunting is easy   never believe what those anti's say ;)

I can tell you there are deer in the Capital Forest I cannot tell you where because they are incredibly stealthy, wear camo, read the regs and go invisible.....most are also nocturnal and only come out after shooting hours......however plenty of people take nice deer out of there every year....
There are some incredible deer in the Olympics the terrain is steep and nasty and also beautiful...... There is a buck in Ocean Shores I'd like to let the air out of  ;) but every time I see him he is in someones yard....

Are you looking to stay up north?  If not, send me a PM.  I may be able to point you in the right direction down here in SW Wash for some good deer areas.

Just out of curiosity, have you checked out all of the spots already sent to you.  I know several members have been very nice about giving you information?
