Its pretty easy to vote for a tag vs telling everyone a unit.. most of these places are so huge that you shouldn't really be seeing other hunters anyway :twocents:

Thats what I figured. Thats one of the great things about Idaho. We rarely see anyone after opening weekend. Get away from the roads 4 or 5 miles and its pretty quiet. Good luck on your hunt this year. Its right around the corner.

Post by: andrew_12gauge on August 21, 2009, 12:23:55 PM: I voted panhandle i know the herds are suffering up there right now but this is the only elk tag you can get that will allow you to hunt branched bulls with all 3 weapons, and you can do that with either an a or b tag, dont know why the owyhee/south hills is there as there are no regular seasons down there, all permit only, and how could you forget the boise river zone surely it should get some votes lol

Post by: PLUVIUSWAPITI on August 24, 2009, 08:52:26 PM: A group of us have hunted the upper panhandle see a few elk now and then, not that many though. One guy in our party brought home a 300 class winter kill bull that was very nice. just to many wolfs over in that area now , won't go back.
