I took about a 10 mile walk this morning in hopes of finding a fresh set of Cougar tracks in the snow. I didn't find any fresh Cougar sign, quite a bit of Bobcat. What I did see were 4 different bucks chasing does like it was peak rut. I seen 13 deer with 4 of them bucks and 2 of the 4 were very nice bucks.
The last buck I seen was the widest Blacky I have ever seen. He was only a 3 point with small eye guards but he had to be at least 22 - 23 inches wide, it was one of those bucks where the horns never come up straight almost lay out, unlike most blacky's. I watched that buck push this doe around for 10 minutes, I thought I was going to see him lay it to her.
If I still had a late archery tag I wouldn't waste that last few days it looks great.
(It is 12/11)

i headed out this weekend again to CF, guna see if i can find some den sites. in the summer we found one that had a lion come out of it, so im thinkin i can find some more. espeiclly like a bear den or somthin, i think if i get out and start hinking i should find somthin cool. but i may decide on friday night to try and run the pup around too, who knows

Sweet, there's nothing better than watching bucks in the rut. It does seem late though.
