 Thought a few might not of heard of the prehistoric ancestor of the Pacific salmon, the saber-toothed salmon.

Yeah, looks a lot like a dog salmon, although if I could catch a 9 foot Dog salmon I'd probably fish for them!

Wounder why they went extinct.  Was there big prehistoric gill nets? :chuckle:

 There was a rumour, unverified that a few of these were found in one of the giant Russian lakes this century, it would be something to see, even a fossil of it. Imagine two big bucks sparring in a 2' deep stream at 400lbs, impressive.
