I know most of us archery guys were waiting for today for deer but I am also really excited about getting into some small game. Have not had any rabbits or grouse since last winter. Time to go murderize some fur and feathers. :hunter:

I am with ya on that...if I wasnt busy with other junk today, it would be grouse/bobkitty time.

Put in a full day yesterday for bear and anything else I could lgally harvest, but came up empty. Only saw one rabbit that was too fast for me and one bull elk for which I could not hunt.......

I went out to a local spot that has some rabbits and raccoons but that anti's will be happy to know that the mosquitoes got the better of me.
+1 for the wildlife, 0 for me. :chuckle:

yes ive been seeing grouse everywhere!!! but on the first when i went to get some i didnt see any! almost got a shot at a bear but then the fog blew in :bash:

went for a half day today...took out the 20 guage and the .223. I figured with that set up, I would see a cougar and bear, since I wouldnt shoot either with those weapons... :chuckle:
only saw 2 grouse (while driving... :bash:), called in one animal (heard him twice in the woods going up a draw so he could wind me), then a squirrel confirmed his presence for me...chattering away.
next time.... ;)

I've been up to my normal grouse spot twice and haven't seen a thing, am thinking the hard witner was hard on them. I take a Savage 30-30 over a 20 gauge, now if I could just figure out the new Cougar regulations and areas I would be happy. Larry
