Anybody fished Willapa Bay lately? Hows the fishing? We are heading out tomorrow but trying to decide between the bay and Westport. The 3 fish limit and a native is enticing but its always hit or miss in Willapa. I know the silvers have been pretty steady outta Westport. Any suggestions would be great. We fished the Columbia from Buoy 10 to bridge last Sunday and caught 3 fish but worked hard for em, on the water at 6 and not off till 6 that evening - and way way way too many people.

my dad went to willapa on monday and said it was terrible.

We fished Westport last Saturday and after we caught our limits we were trying to catch bottom fish and still couldn't keep the silvers off our line they would chase the sea bass up to the top of the water it was the best fishing i have ever seen

Thanks for the info guys, I was leaning towards Westport and sounds like thatd be a good bet. How far out did ya have to go Skipper?

We went north to Copalis and were about 2-3 miles off shore

So we went outta Westport on Friday, bout 1.5 miles out, 4 of us limited out in 30 minutes!! Fishing was insane, best any of us had ever seen. Nice size fish too, all were in the 10-14 lb range. Probly caught bout half natives half hatchery. And we caught a bunch of humboltd squid too! water was like a lake. If the weather is nice get out there! If I could figure out how to post pics I would......?

elkaholic123, I live right on the willapa and over the weekend fisherman did very well trolling from Raymond upriver to the Camp One bridge. Monday saw a couple of fish hauled up from the river near menlo and the fish looked like they were already half smoked(very dark)
