,,,I stopped fishing the rivers!!! People are just plain nuts when it comes to fish :yike: I went down to the Puyallup the other day after work, and the people were,,well shall I say idiots :o I watched a couple people take ( and yes I counted) 5 and six humpies to their rigs, and tell me "that's another limit for the week "...
You know, I thought that I was reading the regs wrong, so I called the Game Dept. yesterday, and they confermed that you are only allowed 4 ADULT salmon and only 2 can be a silver, or a hatchery king. (And yes they are aware of the fishing on the Puyallup, but they don't have the officers to patrol it.)
I'm not that hungry, need to catch a fish that bad to put up with that garbage...

Sorry but I just had to blow off some steam..

I agree with you 100%, checked it a couple times after work.... Wow is the only thing I can say. I like to fish for relaxation, not for the food as I can buy it one heck of alot cheaper in the store if I really wanted to eat.... It is disgusting down there for sure on the Pyullaup, trash, people and alcohol, mixed in with some crack heads trying to steal everything out of folks cars along the various parking areas.... Fun?

We need another great flood!
Cohoho you have nice boat right? Can me and my family ride it out with you? hahaha :chuckle: :chuckle:

I dont know if I would stop river fishing completly. Sounds like the Puyallup is the problem. They all seem to come out of the wood work every humpy season.

If it makes you feel any better we have our share here in the southwest. It may not be as bad at the Puyallup but the Washugal can be pretty bad. I counted 20-30 rigs down there the other night @9:30pm and it has a night closure.

I have been fishing down there the last couple days and it is a mad house. I saw two guys take at least a dozen pinks to there truck two days ago. If you fish in the big groups its a bunch of people snagging and keeping every fish. My partner and I just try to wade away from the groups and fish our own spots. The fish are everywhere, me and my buddy had over 50 in two and a half hours ( In the mouth all released).

I've fished the Puyallup three times & caught a lot of fish. For the most part people got along well. My wife & I had one incident on Friday. A guy above us about 20yds hooked a fish yet neglected to say "Fish On!". Result was line got caught around my wife & she almost took a spill in waist deep water. The guy was real nice about it and didn't complain. I offered to give him one of my fish. He said no & was a real gentleman about it. His main concern was that my wife was alright. (I had previously netted a fish for him). The guy above him however was a real a$$hole and called my wife a dumb C#&T! He was a young guy (to me at 59), in his 30's. Well, when he said that I saw red! I told him to shut his mouth, and that if he opened it again I was going shut it for him. I further told him not to mess w/an old man; cause if he wanted to tangle I would accommodate him. If you doubt what I'm saying just say another word - "Cause you are all mouth and no A$$". Well he shut up for good.
Like Woodrow Call says "I hate rude behavior in a man, I won't tolerate it."
We fished for another 1½ hours w/o further problems.

Not that there arent' a ton of A-holes at the Puke, but just to clarify, there are a lot of Humpy's around that 20" adult cutoff, I hooked a few today around that size, not unheard of people are in fact keeping only 4 adult's out of their 6 total.
-
in the regs, an adult humpy is 12" or better.
-
Amazing how such butt wipes think they can behave. Unfortuneatly there are not any where near enough game officers to deal with it, and because your girlfriend and her cronies spent 10 times what they had it is even worse.
-
The limit is only 4 adults.. If you are keeping 6 humpies then your POACHING..

The puyallup is just crazy, especially the last few days, Three big fish on (coho) and I couldnt reel them in because there was so many lines in the water that they tangeled up and I lost the fish. I need to find a quiter spot or a different river.
