I hunt blackpowder for elk, A buddy of mine invited me to tag along on a archery elk hunt in a unit that will be open in the blackpowder season. Is it legal for me to carry my bear tag and rifle, even though I'm accompanying an archery hunter in elk season.

As long as the unit is open for modern bear season and you have a bear tag. I think you would be ok.
