Wondering what everyone thought. I was thinking about storing a bow in a wood storage shed during the summer months. This would allow ready access for practice while at work. The issue is the building is not insulated, and the temperature would have the high and low of the entire day. High's are normally in the 80's with peaks over 100 for a few days a year, dropping around 20 degrees at night. Will this damage the bow or strings? Any info would be appreciated.

manual (hoyt) says not to keep in a hot car. dunno how close that is to your situation.

I keep mine downstairs in the dungeon. It stays pretty cool in there summer or winter. I am too worried about extended storage in the heat and delamination or some other side effect. I have no experience with them happening on a bow but I'd rather avoid those sort of experiences. I'd venture to say that I would probably not put my bow out in that shed if it is subjected to the heat in the summer time but that's just me :dunno:

hate to admit it but i keep mine in the truck most of the time cause i shoot at work almost every day....I have done this for a couple years with the same bow. just keep the strings waxed. I do take it out when it is going to be really hot.
I think that would be fine to keep your bow in.
I know it is bad so please no lectures.....lol

I never leave mine in a enclosed vehicle for any period of time, I know the old limbs delaminating thing is different now due to the way limbs are made, but I still won't do it. I think as long as your storage shed does not get hotter than the ambient ouside temperature it's probably fine.

just my 2 cents....but i would never do that...to much of an opportunity for string stetch, ploblems with lims, etc. I would just keep it in my truck in a bow case and move the case from my work to where ever you going to shoot etc. In the past I mounted some celing hooks for my bow in my shop ( gets over 100 in eastern wa) had some terrible issues sighting in when after this.

I left my bow in a car a few years ago and when I picked it up my peep had turned about 90 degrees so yes it obviously can affect the string.

Nothing good will ever come with exposing you bow to high and low temps. The string and tune will change and then everything is messed up :dunno:
Limbs can delaminate from the heat inside a car on a summer day too.
I keep mine in the heated garage year round temps are between 50-70 degrees.

from the archery shop I worked in, we had a bunch of bows come back with delaminated limbs from being left in vehicles and in hot places... just a word of advice, don't do it! haha

Thanks for the input...talked to Mathews today and they recommended I not do that. There reason was too much continual heat fluctuations (semi extreme) that would affect the string and limb "strength". I read that as bad for the string and limbs but not committing to the limbs fully. I will get something else figured out. Just can not leave it in the vehicle as it will get in the way. Thank you all for the input and help agian.
