FYI
Fall turkey season is about to begin and we need your help!
Oregon State University in conjuncture with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife are beginning a two-year research project to determine the diet of wild turkeys in Oregon and Washington. We are sending you this letter to enlist your help with the collection of crops from harvested turkeys.
You were selected because you successfully drew a special permit turkey tag for the Blue Mountains West hunt, which is an area focal to the project.
Follow the link below to a downloadable project summery, target area map, crop removal directions and submittal information.

Please feel free to pass this information on to other turkey hunters. Any additional crops from harvested turkeys will increase the accuracy of the research.
Good Luck during the early season and we will send a reminder out before the late fall season opens.
Thanks for your support,

Just when I didn't think I'd be able to go Turkey Hunting...I recieved the same email, like a gift from God! I'm running home right now to tell my wife that Oregon State University, WDFW, & ODFW all contacted me today; requesting that I go Turkey Hunting! They said they need my help!
I'm hoping that she has a soft spot for studying the diet of wild turkeys....but it should work, right?

I too received the same e-mail ... this has been in the works for some time ... problem is they want you to drop the crop by the WDFW regional office during normal business hours ( M - F 8am to 5pm) ... funny I work close to the same hours and the closest office is about 1 hr drive away. I also received this e-mail 3 days into the season ... just seems like it was not well thought out.
