With the different options to choose from, what would you choose to buy as your license/tag and why?
-
i voted eastside archery, because thats what i have to buy to put in for the tags i want...
-
Voted W.Muzz like the early access in randle, packwood area
-
I don't own a muzzleloader but in looking at the regs it doesn't take a genious to figure it out. There are more and bigger ElK on the westside and look at the options in the regs.

Well I've actually thought alot about this recently and have come to the conclusion I'm gonna start putting out east for archery.I've hunted archery for quit some time and I've hunted modern but I won't go back.I know it may take some time to get drawn but I don't care.It will pay off in the end. I hunted out east for elk in Oregon this year and I've never seen as many elk. I didn't close the deal this year but hey that's why they call it hunting not killing.
Equipment:
Bow:Martin Bengal
Arrow:Eastin exels 300 with blazers
Lenght:29'1/2
Broadhead:Muzzy three blade 100's
Wisker biscuit
Site:Cobra sidewinder

When is that hunt? Ive looked all over in the regs for a Muzz hunt in Packwood and Randle. I have never seen one, but maybe I missed it somewhere. Ive been hunting it archery every year. Could you tell me what page its on or what the dates are?
Thanks

I grew up modern hunting Elk on the east side. A few years back I switched to muzzleloader and havent looked back. Due to the fact I can hunt my normal areas and not really worry about seeing somebody every twenty feet, my vote wil be for east side muzzy.
-
edmonshunter- I see where randal unit is open but not packwood for muzz. Am I missing something? Gosh i hope so. Packwood would be a sweet muzz hunt.
-
Eastern Muzzle! I stay away from any Modern seasons in WA and I can still hunt the same spikes as the General rifle seasons (unless you draw) but earlier and with less people, plus an October season opener means I still get the thrill of the rut like the archery guys!
-
Eastern Washington Archery here, I sure wish they would move our season back a couple weeks though. Too dang hot... I think Eastern Muzzleloader has the best season though except they get screwed with a short season, not even two weekends to hunt like modern gets. I wonder what the deal is with that?

I forgot about the Randle hunt. Thats a tiny unit though compared to Packwood. That Randle unit was new this year too.
Slinger, I checked my regs again and cant find anything on a Packwood Muzz hunt. :dunno: :dunno:

My bad folks, Randle is open for early Muzz. not Packwood. Randle is better, I think in mod fire. Less people hunt there cause of it's size, but I found some open spots. Im gonna give it a go this year.
Had to watch while the bull I had been chasing for 2 days got taken by a camp down the road from me.
