Title: Remington 700 - Short Action Vs. Short Action Magnum
Post by: Gearhead1940 on September 29, 2009, 10:43:49 AM
Does anybody here know what the differences are between a Rem700 short action and a short action magnum? Is it just the bolt-face or is the short action magnum a bit bigger?

Thanks for the help!

The bolt face will be bigger to acomadate the WSM or RSAUM cartridge. Because those cases are fatter than the standard .308 win based cartidges.

As far as length of the bolts, I am not sure.

Same action... only differences are the boltface and magazine follower.

The kick.  The short mags bite harder.
