Title: Chehalis ducks?
Post by: Navyhunter on October 09, 2009, 07:46:02 PM
Anybody got any good ideas for the opener around Lewis County?  I have one place in mind but it's an hour drive....better than nothing though.

i haven't seen much around yet usually doesn't pick up till Nov. best advice head towards the coast. I did see a large group of lessors coming south but the appeared to be flying through they were pretty high.

Define big river...Cowlitz big or Columbia big?  I hit the Columbia 3 years ago before deploying and did well up around Brewster.  That's a heck of a drive though.

there are a lot of river opportunities and tribs along the Chehalis I think. I saw a lot of ducks down there AFTER the season last year, late winter while scouting for turkey in the Peterman Ridge area.

lots of small lakes and ponds though. look for a map of lewis county non-shooting zones to get an idea of where you CANT shoot, then if you find a good little lake call the local authorities.
