Fishermen had a great line up, the right bait, the right gear...... The Sturgeon had the strong winds from the East and the trolling motor on their side...
The fisherman (LongTatLaw, JROOT and Cohoho) fought a battle.... sunup till sundown, but the Sturgeon prevailed in the end... Well sort of - Not a great day by any means, but we did catch a half dozen or so Sturgeon, John got his first, so that was a victory.... Hooked into a an oversized on my only 14" shad left, but my running Kicker took care of that problem we had on who was going to fight it as the motor won.... The winds were horrible 20-25MPH.. The ride back up river was so choppy it hurt... We packed it and drove to Kalama, where it was glass on the water but only one Sturgeon in my two favorite holes... Next time.. Oh and of course the customary First Sturgeon Picture... Smoocharoma.....

Looks like I was better off not going with you fellas, by the looks of the hitman crew you brought along I would have been tossed overboard for bringing my bad luck along !!! :chuckle:

It's good to see you guys had fun tho !!!

Yeah that was my first sturgeon, and definitely my first sturgeon kiss. I wonder if it meant as much to the fish as it did to me? Do you think he will call me? I am just an absolute wreck waiting...LOL Thanks Cohoho, I had a blast...

I'm glad you did, it is always better on a bad day then working on a good day....... No problem at all, we'll do it again probably in Nov as the rest of the month is tied up.. It will pick back up for sure just in a couple other locations...
I just got to remember any calls to Robodad mean absolute disaster for fishing that day, he doesn't even have to be in the boat now to cause bad luck, just the thought of him going is enough for the Fish Gods to rein havoc down upon the Fishermen.... :chuckle: :chuckle: Just kidding Robo...

Robodad the McManus of Hunt-wa?
Cohoho, where do you get your gloves?
-
McClendons' but they are junk, constant changing after the rip tear, etc... Got to go back to Black Talon's, that we used to use for searches etc... Extremely tough glove...

Thanks Cohoho,
I have been looking for some waterproof gloves that are tough but still keeping dexterity.

Intresting Photos. The last time I was in the erea the water was up in the trees. I have never been on the water this time of year at Bonnie. I'll be around come spring again when the shad numbers pick up.

It has actually risen a couple feet since I went there in Aug and Sep. The launch is fine, alittle abrupt but OK. No dock access, it is still way out of the water.
-
What launch do you use?
