Title: Camping on Weyco lands
Post by: PLUVIUSWAPITI on October 17, 2009, 03:44:06 PM
I see that Weyco has posted all thier land in Pacific Co. and west Lewis co. no camping allowed. This will be interesting to see where everybody is going to set up elk camp. I guess maybe all the hunters can find enough state land.

I thought all of their land was pretty much 'no camping' anyway? Are there areas where they used to let people camp or was it just never posted on site?

Basket, pretty sure they are keeping the gates closed on the boistfort side because of all the washouts.

Anyone know or heard of what happens if Weyco 'catches' you cold camping on their property during the late season?  They make it so hard to understand what is acceptable, not acceptable, gates open or closed, color coordinated gates, dry season or wet... :dunno:  A small website sure would help.

i checked a couple of spots this weekend and saw 2 camps one was right out in the middle of a clear cut in plane sight you would figure if there going to camp up there they wouldn't do it out in the middle of the open. other one i saw was way up top toward doty side. there is one big camp usually set up on the forks creek main line about 4 days before rifle elk season kinda curious if they will be set up this year.
i know over on the Lincoln creek side you can get hunting permits for the area but not sure how to. as for state land i am not sure about camping i think it is ok to do i saw a couple of camps set up in some area i elk hunted the early season but none of the spots i hunted.

Checked with Dennis Co. in Raymond today and the only camping allowed will be in the PeEll area. No camping west of PeEll on Weyco Lands
