I couldn't go out hunting this morning, but a finally am seeing ducks flying again...lots of them! It's been since early Sept that I've seen any around here. Tomorrow I'll be hitting the pond... which I saw the ducks piling into this morning... hope they stick around.
Anybody else notice an increase in ducks in the last couple days?

I was working in liberty lake and about 1000 of them flew over me heading towards the fields for breakfast on thursday. I can't really remember the last time I saw that many come off the lake. Wonder if that arctic blast we had a couple of weeks ago pushed them down?
-
I think that must have been it. They are late this year though. Last year there were hundreds flying on opening day. Better late than never!
-
yes they are! It was a brown day, but oh well.
This is from kwackwacker and I. Yes those are snipe. :chuckle:

I have been hearing them fly over the house in the evennings, so the migration has started.

talked to the post office, should be able to get one tomorrow!

How are the blinds up there this season?
What's the water level like?
Always liked that place....use to hunt it alot during college days. Weekdays arnt so busy and it can be hot when timing is right.
-
the blinds are alright, they did something with the water this year to let the plants grow and take root or something, so they didnt flood it, they are letting it naturally fill back up with rain, should be higher now, it was pretty low opening weekend
-
It's no good if you have a jet on your boat. :bash: You were able to walk to many of the blinds and they added more rock to the S.E. boat launch.
-
Yeah ive usually use the SE launch and just troll/walk the boat.
Im trying to get the GF into duck hunting and think that the pit blinds (probably bring the heater too ) would be a good place to start with her.

Nice !!!!
