Title: Got my first deer opening day
Post by: GUHunter on October 25, 2009, 01:35:43 PM: Got this guy 20 minutes into the season. Was in place on a ridge overlooking a field an hour before opening light. Was the first deer that I spotted after opening light. The shot was less than 75 yards and he expired within 20 yards.

As a note, I was hunting with hunter orange on. It was taken off at the truck for the pics only.

Post by: GUHunter on October 25, 2009, 01:47:13 PM: The shot did enter a little high. I held high since the deer was 40 feet or so below me and fairly close. Wanted to make sure i got the offside lung as well as the onside, and I did.
