Got this guy 20 minutes into the season. Was in place on a ridge overlooking a field an hour before opening light. Was the first deer that I spotted after opening light. The shot was less than 75 yards and he expired within 20 yards.

As a note, I was hunting with hunter orange on. It was taken off at the truck for the pics only.

good job , looks like a high shoulder hit way to go.

The shot did enter a little high. I held high since the deer was 40 feet or so below me and fairly close. Wanted to make sure i got the offside lung as well as the onside, and I did.

Nice job! Looks like a good buck! Doesn't it suck to feel like you have to explain the whole hunter orange thing on this site though? :chuckle: The internet police are ALWAYS watching! :chuckle:

Thanks guys. This was my third year deer hunting. No luck in years 1 or 2. Right after opening light day 1 and he walks right in. I guess third year is a charm. :chuckle:
