Title: Loon Lake Mountain Hunting
Post by: Keener on October 28, 2009, 06:14:07 PM
I'm relatively new to the state, but may have an opportunity to hunt private land on Loon Lake Mountain. Can anybody comment on the general hunting quality there, and elk hunting in particular? I understand the GMU is 121. Thanks.

There's elk there, but few and far between. I'd hunt elk somewhere else if your travailing far. Now, if you are hunting w/somebody who knows the area and the elk there, go for it. There in small pockets. :twocents:

PA BEN said it perfect.  If your hunting private land, with somone who knows the Elk go for it!  If you dont have the Elk pinned down your probably wasting your time  :twocents:

It's probably worth going out there and spending a day or two - even if the elk don't happen to be there.  Use the experience as a scouting session for whitetails - lots of good deer hunting around there.
