I plan on it, if I dont take a nice whitetail in Eastern Washington, I have the multi season tag.  I have no big ones scouted out, have no clue how them dang things operate. I seen two spikes and a forker horn this season that I could have shot. One big one that was moving out pretty quick. So if you have any tips I am all ears..

i am hunting late archery and it is only my 2nd year. have not shot anything yet. you know where i could find a doe to take? it will be my first kill so i don't care if it has horns or not. i tried hard all last year and early season this year out by belfair and got nothing but sore feet and wet. hell , i would be happy to see something period. i have never hunted before last year so maybe i am doing something wrong. :bash:

I had two good bucks scouted that I found while bear hunting.  Only problem they were in unit 448 and that is closed during December so I shot one of them Sept 1st couldn't help myself.  now I'm almost out of tags the only one I have left is my whidbey island doe tag

is there anybody out there that is willing to help a new guy out. i know nothing except how to shoot and walk ALOT in the woods. i am 35 and have 2 hunting pals that are total flakes. the only gates i have hunted behind have been around belfair. if you are willing to allow me to tag along i will drive. i just really like bowhunting and am wanting to learn how to put meat in the freezer.

is it better to wander around or find a place to sit and stay put? i live on the Key Peninsula out by Gig Harbor.

Sit and stay put. Its really hard but do some scouting, hang a stand and bring a book. The deer will show up. Try to get into a small hole in the timber somewhere. Lots of times buck will move short dinstances during the middle of the day to browse in spots like these. Avoid setting up in a clear cut. If you can find a spot with two cuts there is a chance there is a regular travel route between the cuts the deer use...set up in the middle somwhere or find a natural funnel. Blacktails are tough many times it is hard to find a trail that has regular usage. There are more deer out there than you think.

There is good hunting near you. The bear-creek dewatto area has good numbers of deer but I think it may be closed for the late season this year.

I'm hunting late season, I'll be after a huge 4 point that I found back on my father inlaws property back in late September. When I first saw it, It was bedded up against a tree line and I could only get about 100 yards from it before he decided to get up and wonder back in the timber. I was hunting with my son back there during rifle and saw some huge tracks in the same area, had to be him. Can't wait!!

Found a spot that was covered with tracks , rubs , turds ,and trails today half a mile from where i have hunted 2 seasons and seen nothing but wet feet and dissappointment. Thanks to those who have shared knowledge with a new guy. :)

sean it's possible to sneak up on deer but you move really slow. it's way better to climb in a stand and see em that way, plus it's easier to draw back on em when your up in the air.

seansfire, that spot you are hunting is decent.  Find a good spot in the timber or along the edges and sit.  There are also some decent trails you can sit on in the timber in there.  Plenty of deer, just have to be patient and wait them out.  I will be headed that way a few times in December (grew up in Port Orchard and family is still there), we can try to hook up for a hunt if you want.
