Hey, i'm gonna be up in a cabin for four days, around Thanksgiving, near Concunully(?) was thinking about daily morning trips to the Met. was wondering if its even going to be open for Steel, and if so, is it worth going that late? been there once, two weeks ago, liked what i saw so want ta try and fish it. Thanks!

Depends on the freeze. Once th ecold spell hits, it gets kinda frustrating with floating ice. Don't get me worng, as I have fished in the middle of January, but when the ice is flowing, its a PAIN. Floating leaves don't bother me. So watch the weather. CLear an dcold not so good. Drizzle good!

Thanks Bone, appreciate it. is there fish that time of year i guess is what i was wondering? is the pursuit woth it? by the way, any bird hunting in the area i might partake in, pheasant release, ducks etc. Thanks

There are always fish in there all winter. They spawn in the spring.
No pheasant release sites that I know of. Better birding probably over in the okanogan though I don't know where. You can always do ducks on the Methow but mostly theya re goldeneyes or mergansers. Not many mallards. At least a mixed bag. I would think it would be more difficult with all ofthe pontoons coming down.

Thanks again Bone.

there is little to no bird hunting in the valley. a few scattered coveys of quail and a few huns but nothing worth your time. Like bone said the fish are there all winter and into the spring
